The spurt in violence came just a day after thousands of people joined celebrations in Swat to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day and will raise questions about the government’s claim that normalcy had been restored in the valley after a three-month-long operation against the Taliban.
The suicide attacker rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into a check post near Khwazakhela, a former Taliban stronghold in Swat.
