I-Day celebration at Kushalnagar

He was speaking at an Independence Day celebration programme organised by the National Festival Celebration Committee at Government Model Higher Primary School Ground here on Saturday. “Citizens should unite and raise voice against anti-nationals for the integrity of the nation,” he said. The Government as well as citizens have equal responsibility to check terrorism, he added.

The freedom which was obtained through the sacrifice of national leaders is being misused by citizens for their malafide intentions, he opined.

B S Yeddyurappa government has implemented several pro-people schemes in the State, he said adding that Yeddyurappa could take the government to the doorsteps of the poor people.

Government had sanctioned Rs 25 crore for the development of the district. Another sanction of Rs 50 crore is expected under the rain havoc fund, he said.

Samiti President M Narayana presided. Town Panchayat President H J Kariappa distributed prizes to winners of various competitions. Later cultural programmes were presented by students.
