JOIN USThe meeting between the two leaders, who have been at loggerheads and who are neck deep in trouble due to alleged illegal land denofitication and mining cases, has raised a few eyebrows in the political circles. Kumaraswamy, it is learnt, used a four-wheeler of one of his close relatives to visit the hospital where Yeddyurappa was admitted and was closeted with the BJP leader for nearly 40 minutes.
Though it was not clear what transpired between the two leaders, sources said Kumaraswamy sympathised with Yeddyurappa for the Lokayukta court remanding him in judicial custody and for his health condition. The JD(S) leader is learnt to have told the BJP leader that he never intended to put him in such trouble by exposing the alleged land scams and that he was only trying to take political advantage of the issue as a leader of the Opposition party.

It was Kumaraswamy who exposed the alleged land scams involving Yeddyurappa and his family members, leading to the Governor sanctioning the permission to prosecute him. The BJP too came up with similar allegations against Kumaraswamy and, as a result, both the leaders are now facing prosecution.
The secret meeting, it is speculated, would lead to a political churning in future in the State. Though the close aides of the two leaders dismissed as "far-fetched" the possibility of them joining hands, some sources said the scam-tainted Yeddyurappa has kept the option open to strike a deal with the JD(S) if BJP decides to dump him in future. It is no secret that the State BJP has been divided into two factions, one led by Yeddyurappa and another by Ananth Kumar.
