Last Updated 16 August 2009, 18:08 IST

The animal lovers from ‘Lets Live Together’ marched to Minsk Square through Cubbon Park and returned to Queen Victoria statue.

Founder Trustee of the NGO, Achala Paani said that the idea was to encourage people to adopt these Indian puppies, which would help in tackling the street dog menace and related problems.

Also present at the adoption programme was eminent animal advocate Brindha Nandakumar and B C Ramakrishna, President of the Karuna trust.

Brindha Nandakumar appealed to the public not to label street dogs as stray dogs but instead call them ‘community dogs’ which could be adopted by a home or by a group of
people. This is the third such adoption programme organised by the NGO, after similar events in May.
