The first day of the Metro saw as few as 500 commuters from six stations on Reach-1 in 60 buses, while day two had 10 – 15 per cent load factor in every bus. The feeder services will be extended to Koramangala, Vijayanagar, Kengeri and Peenya on holidays, a BMTC official said.

Meeting today
The frequency of the extended services would be decided at a meeting scheduled for Monday.

“As of now, the load factor is not very high. Even if the load factor is three times that of what it is now (10 per cent), we can manage with the existing 60 buses,” M P Prabhudas,  Chief Traffic Manager (Operations) told Deccan Herald.

With Deepavali holidays ahead and the Metro drawing over 70,000 passengers a day, BMTC plans to expand the reach of feeder services so as to make the best of excitement and curiosity of the passengers taking a joyride.
