The accused are - Asif, Saif, Moulana, Munna and Yusuf, all of them residents of HBR Layout.
According to the police, Ameenabi, the grandmother of the accused, suddenly died when the accused picked a quarrel with her and beat her up over a domestic affair on Saturday night, near her house.
Ameenabi’s son Iliyas has married two women and the accused are the sons of his first wife. Iliyas had married another woman after parting ways with his first wife and settled down in Saudi. A case has been registered against him in this regard.
Iliyas had come to Bangalore three days ago. The accused decided to hand him over to the police.
Quarrel
They went to his house and picked up a quarrel. In a fit of anger, they allegedly beat up Ameenabi, who collapsed and died on the spot, added the police.
The police arrested the accused following a complaint by Iliyas’ second wife.
