<p>The crash site is close to Chokang village in Lahaul valley in Himachal Pradesh which is located 15,000 feet above sea level. <br /><br />Several parts of the aircraft have been found under the snow. <br /><br />Reconnaissance photographs taken by the IAF's front line fighter and transport planes as well as helicopters and ISRO satellite images were not too much help as area is under a thick cover of fresh snow.<br /><br />A base camp had been set up at an altitude of 13000 ft.The ground search party was divided into groups to cover the bowl and slopes on either side of the ridge, where the images had indicated the presence of debris.<br /><br /> A team of experienced IAF and Army mountaineers were dropped on a mountain ledge, 200 metres above the crash site, to identify it.
