<p>The India Medical Tourism destination (IMTD), a three-day meet, opened here with 33 leading hospitals from India and a number of prominent Indian doctors participating in the event.<br /><br />Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Satish C Mehta, said India and Kuwait had age-old relationship as he hoped the meet would provide an opportunity to the Indian and the Kuwaiti healthcare professionals to build a long-term mutually beneficial relationship.<br />President of Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait, Dr Nampoory, highlighted the high standards of medical facilities available in India from the pre-historic times, that could be utilised by the Kuwaiti citizens.<br /><br />Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism of Andhra Pradesh also highlighted the efforts made by the government of his state for the promotion of medical tourism.</p>
