CBSE school heads discuss Kapil Sibal's proposal

It would enhance quality of edn provided in pry, secondary levels

The meeting was organised under the auspices of the newly formed forum, Karavali Sahodaya Schools Complex (KSSC) which intends to bring the CBSE schools together in furthering the cause of primary and secondary education. The meeting was participated by principals of 31 CBSE schools from the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

Presiding over the session, Principal of Little Rock English School (Brahmavar), who is also the Chairman of KSSC, highlighted the salient aspects of the CCE scheme and said that it was high on the agenda of CBSE as it would exponentially enhance the quality of education provided in the primary and secondary levels. He made a presentation on Monitoring and Mentoring of CCE.

The meeting also was a platform for sharing best practices incorporated in respective schools. It was also resolved that a series of workshops would be conducted on CCE inviting eminent personalities in the education sector.

The resource persons for the meeting, principals of different schools who made their presentations on the subject included Abhilasha from SMS, Brahmavar; Kusum from Madhava Kripa, Manipal; Neetha Kishore from Dr NSAM, Nitte; and Geetha Venkatraman from Dr Ramanna Shetty School, Thokur.

The focal issues discussed through the presentations included formative assessment- as pedagogy, importance of CCA as a part of the formative assessment, recording of  the co-scholastic areas, grades and observations and how effectively a teacher can use the different tools and techniques in formative assessment, respectively.
