Last Updated 05 November 2011, 19:06 IST

The FIR was filed by Bangalore Urban DySP Abdul Ahad on Saturday.
It has been filed under IPC Sections 9 (taking gratification, for exercise of personal influence with public servant), 10 (punishment for abetment by public servant of  offences defined in Sections 8 or 9), 13 D (criminal misconduct by a public servant), and 13 (2) (punishment for criminal misconduct by a public servant) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and Sections 464 (making false document), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120 (concealing design to commit offence punishable with imprisonment).

Puttaswamy had filed a private complaint against Muniraju on October 31, 2011. The complainant alleged that Muniraju had “grabbed” 1.5 acres of land owned by his mother-in-law Mallamma in Yeshwantpur hobli.

Four people, including Ramanagara Tahsildar Ranganath, and Revenue Officer of Yeshwantpur hobli Suresh, misused their powers to help Muniraju achieve the end, Puttaswamy alleged.

Besides Muniraju and the two officers, the FIR names two persons, Parameshwarappa and Rajamma who got 34 guntas transferred in their names.

Approached High Court

The State government had acquired the land in 1981 under the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976, but returned it to Mallamma in 2007 after Puttaswamy approached the High Court.

She then requested the government to include her name in the revenue records. But Muniraju claimed in 2009 that he owned the land. He allegedly got 21 guntas of land transferred in his name with the collusion of revenue officials.

Following the complaint, the Special Lokayukta Court Judge N K Sudhindra Rao ordered the Lokayukta police on November 2, 2011, to investigate the case and report back on November 19.

Informed sources said that Lokayukta DySP H S Manjunath will investigate the case.
