Caught in an island

The second season of Pyate Mandi Kadig Bandru airs every Monday to Friday at 8 pm on Suvarna Channel. This time too, actor and dancer, Akul Balaji, is anchoring the show.

While each episode of Pyate Mandi Kadig Bandru — Season 2 promises to be unique, the beautiful Andaman Islands’ form the main attraction of the reality show. The Jarawa Tribes, one of the oldest ‘Adivasi’ communities of these islands, have faced many a battle in the form of earthquakes and other natural calamities. The Circular Jail, resembling a pigeon home; uncertain weather conditions and thick forests facing the beaches are some of the few things that form the backdrop for the reality show.

The participants — 16 city girls and boys used to luxuries and easygoing lifestyles — have to spend 75 days in the forests of the Andaman. They have to face the harsh and uncertain situations in the islands and live like the tribal folk, as part of completing the tasks set for them.

“Show after the show, Suvarna has taken Kannada reality television standards to new levels. Viewers have now started expecting a fresh concept and presentation every time we come out with a new show. Among all the reality shows that we have done, Pyate Mandi Kadige Bandru has been a project that has had an element of risk for the participants as well as the on-site production team. The second season had to have more excitement and hence, we decided to go to the picturesque Andaman this time,” says Suvarna’s Business Head, Anup Chandrashekharan.
