Auto driver cheats techie; lands in soup

He is said to have decamped with a mobile phone and Rs 6000 cash belonging to Sriharsha Kumar, after assaulting him on Lalitha Mahal road on October 23. The driver is said to have taken Kumar on the pretext of getting him girls, since he had befriended him over a long period of time.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim Sri Harsha Kumar, the auto driver was tracked down near suburban bus stand on November 5, and taken into custody after the latter admitted to have committed the crime.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Rajendra Prasad, DySP Basavaraj Malagatti and Devaraja ACP V Chelvaraju, with Nazarbad police inspector G N Mohan, PSI H M Madhu, K S Guruswamy, Babu, Madhukesh, Anil Shankapal, Mahadevappa, Srinivas and others.
