'Work on Lokpal bill to be over soon'

In an interview to a television channel on Sunday, Singhvi also asserted his openness to suggestions for amendments in the government draft.

“I had stoutly refused to set a timeline and a deadline, because I think it is contrary to parliamentary procedure and etiquette. But certainly given our speed and given our progress, you can see that we are doing our very best and I  would want to have something concrete before early part of December,” he said.

“I am very clear in going against the government draft in some areas where I find the reasoning and logic of team Anna compelling. So I have a completely open mind,” he said.
He said that consultation with representatives from all sections of society was over and the committee was now in deliberations. The Parliamentary Panel will be completing three months deadline on December 7 to prepare the report. Anna Hazare has demanded the passage of the Bill in the winter session of Parliament which ends on December 22, otherwise he would start his resume his agitation. Party leader Digvijay Singh  on Sunday said Hazare is losing his credibility with his conflicting utterances on the Lokpal issue. He also claimed that  Team Anna’s campaign against the Congress in Uttar Pradesh will have no impact.
