PU students throng B'loreOne centres

Many of them thronged BangaloreOne centres to dispatch applications requesting for a revision of their scores.

As of Monday, the e-Governance Department has moved about 4000 requests for revaluation, retotalling and photocopies of II PUC answerscripts to the Pre-University Board.

Indeed, with 57 per cent of students failing in the II PUC examinations – the results for which had been announced on May 9 – the rush to BangaloreOne centres to get details of answerscripts has been particularly heavy this year.

And many are only glad that the serpentine queues to obtain details has been a thing of the past.

Anupama, a parent and an employee at BSNL, said: “The process of sending applications through BangaloreOne centres is helpful. I have applied for photocopies of my son’s answerscripts. All I had to do was to give the register number or the hall ticket, along with the college code and the application is sent to the PU Board”. Anupama’s son is a student from Seshadripuram Composite College.

“The idea of sending the requested photocopies to the residential address, unlike the previous procedure of visiting the PU Board for all queries, has been helpful,” added Anupama.

D Karunagaran, Joint Director, Administration and Examination, PUE Department, said the response to the initiative from parents and students had been encouraging.

“The procedure for submitting applications through BangaloreOne centres and BDA kiosks were outlined on the day the results were declared. About seven candidates had already approached these centres for retotalling and revaluation.

“As many as 1,200 applications were sent to PU Board through these centres by 10.30 am on Monday,” he said.

The applications will be downloaded and sorted into categories.

The results of retotalling, revaluation and photocopies of answerscripts will be sent to the candidate’s mailing address by post, he revealed.

A student has to pay Rs 200 for retotalling, Rs 300 to procure photocopy of the answerscript and Rs 750 for revaluation per subject.

The collections at BangaloreOne centres point towards a rich haul for the Board.
Assistant Director, Bangalore Onecentre Kumudavalli, said two counters at main centres and one at mini kiosks have been dedicated to receive applications for PU answerscripts.
