Citrix demonstrates receiver on Android

Citrix Systems, Inc has last month demonstrated an early version of Citrix Receiver for Android mobile phones. Citrix Receiver already gives iPhone users instant access to Windows applications from anywhere with a lightweight client that can be downloaded directly from the Apple App Store. By extending this capability to Android mobile devices, Citrix is giving this same access to Windows apps for a whole new generation of mobile devices.

Citrix Receiver is a lightweight universal software client that makes accessing applications and IT services on any device as easy as turning on a TV. Receiver features an extensible architecture with plug-ins that communicate with desktop virtualization products like Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix XenApp in the datacenter to ensure a rich, secure, “high-definition” experience for end users through Citrix HDX Technology.
