Another feather in his cap

Popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma, who has already won the hearts of the audience in the last four seasons of ‘Comedy Circus’, a popular show on Sony TV, has made a grand entry in the singing show Star Ya Rockstar on Zee TV.

“I feel really blessed to have been bestowed with a great opportunity like this to showcase my talent as a singer after I proved my prowess as a stand-up comedian in ‘Comedy Circus’.

Though it is very challenging for me since I have to compete with good actor-singers like Sachin, Sumeet, Manasi, Chavi and Ragini Khanna, I am glad that this show will make people realise that there is more to me than comedy.

I feel that it is a great platform for me because today with over 500 channels vying for air space and eye balls, it is very difficult to make yourself known. Besides doing stand-up comedy, I also act and sing, I think I am a complete package as far as Star Ya Rockstar is concerned,” he adds.

Twin act
Paarijatha, a serial based on the story of twin sisters, airs every Monday to Friday at 6 pm on Suvarna Channel. Paarijatha is the story of identical twin sisters, who hail from a middle-class family.

Arathi and Arundhathi are poles apart. While Arundhathi is a shy, simple, down-to-earth and soft-spoken girl, Arathi is bold, daring, modern and outgoing. Arundhathi dreams of a simple married life with a loving husband. But Arathi wants an extremely rich husband who can provide her a luxurious life.

Films with the female lead playing the roles of twins such as Seeta Aur Geeta, Chaalbaaz and Rani-Maharani have enthralled entertainment-lovers. Paarijatha is an attempt to rivet the viewers of television with great and entertaining twins’ story concept.

“Variety is the hallmark of Suvarna, which has set many milestones with its technical excellence and story concepts. Paarijatha, another feather in Suvarna’s cap, will undoubtedly appeal to the viewers,” said Suvarna’s Business Head, Anup Chandrashekharan.
