Correspondence course in art

MC Academy of Art and Design, Bangalore is shortly commencing its next batch of one-year correspondence course in drawing for beginners who are above the age of eight.  The Academy also invites applicants to open its study centres  for the  correspondence course in Art. Train-the-Trainer programme
GenieKids is conducting its Train the Trainer programme (TTT) in two batches. The classroom (morning) batch is for people residing in Bangalore who will be attending the training physically at the GenieKids centre.

This batch starts on November 17, 2011. The classes will be held in the morning from 10 am to 1 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. The online evening batch is for people from other cities who can only undergo the training online or Bangaloreans who ca’t do the course in the morning becasue they are working / occupied elsewhere. The online batch starts on January 10, 2012. Fees for either batch is Rs 13,000.

Workshop on ‘Maths the Montessori way’
Sutradhar is hosting a 2-day workshop on Maths & Montessori on November 25 and 26, 2011 in association with the Indian Montessori Association.

The two-day interactive workshop will focus on the pre-primary level, for children from 2.5 years to 6 years. Teachers will understand how materials such as number rods and golden beads can be presented to children. They will be introduced to the sequence of activities; starting from the concept of numbers from 1-10, the decimal system, the four operations, and then on to higher concepts like fractions.

The workshop is for all pre-primary teachers as well as NGOs who work with young children. It is open to those already using the Montessori method as well as others interested in knowing more about it. Baking course
The Institute of Baking and Cake Art, Bangalore is conducting a three-day special eggless baking course from November 14, 2011. Computing camp
National University of Singapore School of Computing, NUS Extension, and Catalyse have announced the NUS Computing Camp 2011. The camp will be held at the NUS campus from December 12 to 16, 2011, and is open to students of Class X, XI or XII. To qualify for the camp, students need 90 per cent in Class IX or X. If schools follow the grading system, students require an A1 in Science, Mathematics and Computing.
The cost of the camp is S$1,360.

The cost of the NUS Computing Camp fees per student is inclusive of seminars, activities, field trips, accommodation and meals during the programme. It does not cover airfare, travel insurance and personal expenses.
