Last Updated 09 November 2011, 17:11 IST

The five-day tournament will see 14 Bangalore schools besides one each from Goa and Kerala competing for the Equality Cup.

A 5-day trip to to watch Major League Soccer team Seattle Sounders will be up for grabs for the ‘most involved school’ -- the team that plays the game in the right spirit.
All the 48 matches will be played with replica UEFA Champions League balls -- hence the name of the tournament -- with the final being held on November 19 at the Bangalore Football stadium.

“We want to develop a sporting mindset in kids and hold events which are professional in nature,” said former international athlete Ashwini Nachappa while unveiling the Equality Cup. “It is an excellent opportunity for young talent to emerge and also a great opportunity for schools to recognise talent,” she added.

Sixteen teams will be placed in four groups with the top two from each group then going on to play in the knockout rounds. The bottom two teams from each group will take part in the Plate knockout.
