Udupi SP's plea to donate blood

He was speaking at the blood donation camp organised jointly by Karnataka State Sub Division Forest Officers Association, Bangalore and Udupi District Hospital Blood Donation Centre on the occasion of Forest Martyrs Day here at District Hospital on Thursday. 

Stating that there is a huge demand for as many as 10 million units of blood every year in India, he said despite the fact that the advancement in medical arena has highly developed never like before, the substitute for blood is not been found.

“A majority of deaths in our country occur owing to the accidents that results in bleeding,” he said and added that the patient should be treated immediately as bleeding will be heavy during the first one hour. The members of the public should voluntarily come forward for the noble cause of donating blood, he appealed.

As many as 200 people donated blood on the occasion.
