MLA seeks Siddaiah's suspension

Addressing a press conference, Srinivas said the previous commissioners never levelled such allegations against him but Siddaiah was insulting him by repeatedly speaking about the scam.

“The commissioner had sidelined me and conducted a probe into the works. I have brought the matter to the notice of Mayor Sharadamma and the leader of the House B R Nanjundappa,” Srinivas said and alleged that Siddaiah was trying to stain his political career.

On JD(S) leader Padmanabha Reddy demanding a Lokayukta probe into the matter, Srinivas said he was ready for it.

He ruled out that the Rs 500-crore misappropriation of funds had not taken place in his constituency, since his constituency had only received funds worth Rs 250 crore, of which works worth Rs 229 crore had been executed.

However, he admitted that 15 per cent of the works were of poor quality and 10 per cent of which, fake bills had been produced.

When prodded, the legislator refused to divulge any further information.
