Mexican governor's nephew slain

Jorge Torres McGregor, 21, was the nephew of Coahuila state's acting governor Jorge Torres Lopez.

McGregor was fatally shot while driving his pick-up truck in state capital Saltillo, state attorney general Jesus Torres Charles told Televisa television Friday.

The attack occurred Thursday night near the campus of the University of the Valley of Mexico, where the victim was studying law.

Assailants in another vehicle intercepted McGregor as he was passing a gas station and shot at his truck with assault rifles, witnesses said.
