This event, presented in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, Deutscher Musikrat and Deutsche Welle, is part of the ‘Seagram’s 100 Pipers India Music Week’.

An ensemble of 35 young German Jazz musicians will perform with leading exponents of South Indian music — legendary figures and virtuosos from the Karnataka College of
Percussion — R A Ramamani, T A S Mani, Karthik Mani and master percussionist Ramesh Shotham.

The programme will include compositions by Ramamani, Louiz Banks and Charlie Mariano.
‘BuJazzO’, winner of the ‘1997 German Music Prize’, has given over 400 concerts, undertaken 15 international tours and produced numerous broadcast recordings.

As an outstanding ensemble, it plays an exemplary role in the prolific youth jazz scene in Germany as well as around the world.

On several international tours, ‘BuJazzO’ has built many ‘bridges of friendship’ as a cultural ambassador of Germany. The orchestra will travel to six other cities after the premiere in Bangalore.

Entry to the event is free, but by invitation. Limited invitations can be collected from Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, Indiranagar.
