Madikeri bundh against statue desecration total

Shops and commercial establishments remained closed from 10 am to 1 pm and there was sparse vehicle movement on roads.

Hundreds of people took part in a protest march which passed through the main streets and culminated at the office of the deputy commissioner. The protesters submitted a memorandum seeking immediate arrest of the culprits. They demanded that the miscreants be externed from Kodagu district. The protesters sought protection to the statue. Several protests were held elsewhere in the district.

Members of Kodava Samaja staged a protest demonstration in Mysore condemning desecration of the statue. The members took out a march from Cariappa Circle to the office of the deputy commissioner. Lok Sabha member H Vishwanath took part in the protest.
