IAS officer Srilakshmi quizzed again in OMC case

Srilakshmi, listed as one of the accused in the illegal mining case involving former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy, arrived at the CBI office in the morning around 11:00 am and was still being questioned, a CBI officer said in the evening.

Around noon, a team of CBI officials took Srilakshmi to a bank located at Anandanagar colony, opened a locker and seized some documents, cash and jewellery, sources said.
Srilakshmi was questioned for nine hours on Thursday last in connection with illegal mining activities of OMC owned by Gali Janardhana Reddy.

The CBI has so far arrested three persons in the case including Gali Janardhana Reddy, his brother-in-law and company’s Managing Director B V Srinivas Reddy who are presently under judicial custody while V D Rajagopal, a former AP mines director, who was arrested last week, is now in CBI custody till November 21.

Srilakshmi was the secretary of Andhra Pradesh Industries Department and Rajagopal was the then mines director and vice-chairman and managing director (in-charge) of Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation during the period 2004-10 when alleged irregularities in grant of lease and permits to OMC surfaced.
