‘The Virtual Immigrant’

Tasveer is holding an exhibition of the works of photographer Annu Palakunatthu Matthew, The Virtual Immigrant from August 29 to September 19 at Sua House, 26/1, Kasturba Road Cross.

‘Different Strokes’

Different Strokes, a recent collection of paintings by Karttika Goel, will be exhibited at Gallery 1, Karnataka Chitra Kala Parishath, Kumarakrupa Road till August 23. Her
recent paintings focus on oil on canvas with ethnic, contemporary and abstract themes. The timing is 1 am to 7 pm.

'Octavia'

Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, will exhibit the painting of eight young artists called Octavia till August 22 at the Chitrakala Parishath, Kumar Krupa Road.

EasyLib.com, the online library is conducting a weekend workshop called '

Exhibition

Central Cottage Industries Emporium (CCIE) is holding an exhibition of handicrafts and handlooms from across India, where you can get a glimpse of the rich ‘Shekawathi’ culture and tradition with an exclusive range of ‘Shekawathi’ furniture on display. Artefacts by over 60 national and State-award winning artisans from all over the country will be on display. The exhibition is on till August 23.

Film screening

Bangalore International Centre and India Foundation for the Arts will screen a movie The Other Song, directed by Saba Dewan on August 29, 6 pm at the Bangalore International Centre, Domlur. Discussion will follow the screening.

Acting workshop

Spiritual strains

Piano recital

International Music and Arts Society is presenting a piano recital by Chris Williams, an English pianist and composer on August 27, 7 pm at St Mark’s Cathedral.

His songs of the Coromandel Coast and Tsunami Requiem were performed at the Royal Festival Hall London by the English Philharmonia and Chorus with James Gilchrist, solo tenor.

He will play some of the well-known classical repertoire but the highlight of the festival will be the premiere performance of one oh his own compositions, Trees of India.

Summer Duo

The Alliance Francaise and Bangalore School of Music will present French flautist Yohann Egret and classical guitarist Shyamanth Behal on August 21 at the Alliance auditorium.
