Pastor alleges fraud by lawyer

The assurance came only after members of the Peace Presbyterian Church, Peace Garden, staged a protest in front of the Pulikeshinagar police station and demanded the arrest of R Sudhakar, a lawyer who allegedly assaulted and robbed A Jayasheela, 41, a woman pastor and her sister Lathisha at the church.

Jayasheela had lodged a complaint against Sudhakar on November 18, 2011. She alleged that Sudhakar, to whom she had entrusted a land dispute case, had assaulted her and snatched her 68-gm gold chain when she went to his office on Lazar Road, Frazer Town, a day earlier to enquire about the progress in her case. Sudhakar not only refused to entertain her but also damaged her mobile phone handset, Jayasheela claimed.

According to her, Sudhakar became “unresponsive” after pocketing Rs 3 lakh from her to fight her civil case. She accused Sudhakar of “colluding” with the respondents — Soundarajan, V Shekharan, and a South Korean citizen, Do Woong Choi. She said the three men had forged documents to stake their claim on a three-acre land in Bagalur.

Jayasheela had also approached the DCP (East), Chandrashekar and the Bar Council seeking action against Sudhakar, who has been absconding ever since an FIR was booked against him.

The protest began at 3 pm and went on till about 5.15 pm when the Pulikeshinagar ACP and other police officers came out and held talks with the protestors.
