“We have taken all security measures to prevent anti-social elements from indulging in violent activities. Forces have been deployed at all sensitive and highly sensitive places in the area,” said the police.

Six platoons each of the City Armed Reserve and Karnataka State Reserve Police have been pressed into service for the purpose. Besides, a team headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), B Shivakumar, has been constituted to monitor situation.

The team comprises three assistant commissioners of police, eight police inspectors, 25 sub-inspectors, 100 head constables and 300 constables. Other DCPs of respective divisions have been directed to tighten security in their divisions, added the police.

Prohibitory orders
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidari has clamped prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC from 6 am till 12 midnight on Friday in Madagi Road, Kamakshipalya, Vijaynagar, Byatarayanapura, Chandra Layout and Jnanabharati police limits.
