Mayawati in her letter had said that the Centre had only partially released funds earmarked for the minority welfare.
“The Centre has not yet released Rs 381 crore earmarked for Multi-Sectoral Development Plan though the state has already released the statutory matching grant of Rs 97 crore”, she added.
Meanwhile, in her latter, the BSP supremo also drew the attention towards the steps taken by her regime for the welfare of the community and urged the latter to ‘work for their upliftment in view of their backwardness’.
Mayawati also said that in her earlier letter, she had sought reservation for the community in proportion to their population but the Centre was yet to take any action in this regard.
