Six-and-half-year-old Krish was taken away by unidentified men on Thursday evening while he was playing cricket with his domestic help in a park outside his house at ‘D’ Block in New Friends Colony, south-east Delhi, police said.

A few hours later, the child’s mother received a ransom call for his safe return. “The mother approached us on Thursday and we registered a case of kidnapping,” Additional Commissioner of Police (south-east), Ajay Chaudhary, said.

But Krish, a student of Heritage School, was abandoned at Lajpat Nagar, a few kilometres from his house, on Friday around midnight.

“A passerby accosted Krish and asked him his house address. He then dropped him in his house at about 1 am,” a police officer said.

The child’s parents are estranged and are awaiting the court’s decision for the custody of their son. Krish’s father Ajay Bhasin owns Rawalpindi Jewellers at Karol Bagh. No arrests have been made in the case.

Woman, son end lives

A youth and his 55-year-old mother committed suicide by consuming poison at their residence in outer Delhi.

Manoj Kumar, 25, and his mother Roshani were found unconscious at their house in Samaypur Badli on Thursday. “They were rushed to a private nursing home where they were declared brought dead,” police said.

Manoj, who worked in a private factory, lived with his mother, wife and two children.
“A few days ago, he quarreled with his wife and later, she left for her parents’ house. On Thursday, the family members of his wife came to his house and allegedly beat up Kumar and his mother. Later at night, both mother and son were found unconscious,” said a police officer.

No suicide note was recovered at Kumar’s house. His wife and parents are being questioned,” the officer said.
