He was arrested from Lucknow yesterday in connection with a double murder in Kerakat area of Jaunpur district in which a contractor Sanjay Nishad and tea vendor Nandlal were shot dead on April 1 last year.
During court proceeding, the MP while referring to parliamentary rules contested that he was arrested without informing the speaker. He also raised objection over transfer of double murder case to Gorakhpur unit of CB-CID from Varanasi unit.
Singh requested the court to allow him to attend the ongoing session of the parliament in judicial custody, which was turned down by the court.
