The luxury brands’ mall UB City recently completed one year. As part of its first anniversary celebrations, A Night Of Luxury, a fashion show was held to showcase the brands that have their boutiques in the mall.

Held at The Collection in UB City, the event also consisted of a musical performance.

Surprisingly, most socialites arrived quite early for a Friday evening.

Hence, the event started almost on time with pleasant music by DJ Narain, and Mark Rego being an entertaining emcee.

Prior to the fashion show, a sleek Yamaha piano was unveiled and the beautiful, young pianist Ksenia Ayzel from Uzbekistan was invited on the dais to play for the guests. After two lively pieces, she was joined in by a Bangalore-based violinist Shadroch Amarnath. The two played some delightful music setting the perfect mood for the evening.

Paul Smith and Canali were the first two brands to showcase their collection for the evening. Young male models walked down elegantly looking clad and warm on a cold evening in their tuxedos and suits.

People were seen enjoying the collection and even humming Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the trance version of which was played in the background.

Pretty female models dressed beautifully in shimmering ‘salwars’ came next, showcasing the collection of Kimaya.

Off-white, green and red were the main colours of this collection as the ladies strutted down gracefully to the song Genda Phool from Delhi 6 and MIA’s Paper Planes.

The suits for men from Ermenegildo Zegna followed. Post this, each female model walked down the ramp showcasing one dress from each brand.

So taking the spotlight were the girlie midnight blue ensemble of Jean Paul Gaultier which consisted of a casual top and pants, a silver and black outfit from Stella Mc Cartney, a sleek black outfit from Lanvin and a pink, frilly dress from Moschino.

The last two rounds presented the collections of Minawala and Mont Blanc. The girls looked elegant in black outfits from Minawala, complemented with black stockings, black heeled shoes and studded necklaces.

For Mont Blanc, all the models walked the ramp showcasing a bag or a suitcase from the store.

A unique thing about the fashion show was the entry of the models, who came down elegantly from the escalator amidst blinding lights.

As the show ended, the models even went back up on the same.

However, the event being held on a dry day, the show came to a close soon as no liquor was served.
