"Pramod Bayaskar and two others fabricated the documents and filed fake credentials in a bank to open an account and later transferred Rs 14 lakh from the fund of Mahakali Adivasi Vikas Sanstha, based in village Jatala in Ghatanji tehsil," SP Ranjan Kumar Sharma said.

An FIR against the trio has been filed by Pratibha Gedam, president of the Trust which runs three 'ashram' schools in the district, he said.

"We have booked Pramod Shreeram Bayaskar, Vikas Mogarkar, headmaster of one of the three schools run by the Trust, and Narendra Chintuji Meshram from Wardha under sections 420 (cheating), 408 (criminal breach of trust), 463 (forgery) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC," Sharma said.

Bayaskar served as personal assistant to Purke when the latter was the school education minister.

The key accused Bayaskar along with Mogarkar, who is Headmaster of Late Deorao Gedam Prathamik va Madhyamik Adivasi Ashram Shala, and Meshram doctored the Trust records and opened an account with a public sector bank, police said.

According to them, the trio transferred Rs 14 lakh to the account from the fund of the Trust and misused it.

However, when contacted Bayaskar denied the allegations saying he had withdrawn the amount for the betterment of the schools run by the Trust.

"I am the legal secretary of the Trust and the transactions were done with the consent of other trustees," he said.

The SP told PTI that no one has been arrested in the case so far as the complaint is being verified.
