A patient from Bantwal suffering with fever was admitted to a private hospital and was declared dead on Monday morning.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, District Surveillance Officer Dr Rajesh said “though the private hospital has sent a report to DHO regarding the death of a patient, the report do not have lab diagnosis report. Moreover, the diagnosis was done in a private clinic. Elisa test was not conducted for confirming Dengue. Instead, a spot card test has been conducted, which is not a confirmatory test for diagnosing Dengue. We have asked the hospital to send the diagnosis report. At the same time, Bantwal taluk Medical Officer will conduct a probe and submit a report.”
