According to information, DSIIDC with its four centres that are run by the Society for Self-Employment has imparted training to more than 2,500 persons in this year compared with just 250 persons trained last year. The functional centres are located at Jhandewalan, Okhla, Wazirpur and Nand Nagri.

“Society for self employment has been able to expand its arena without seeking any additional financial support from the DSIIDC and the government. It still continues to get Rs 80 lakh per annum,” said Goswami.

The Society imparts training to the unemployed. They learn skills related to various trades which enable them to gain employment.

Further, the curriculums are being formulated with consultation of the captains of industries and related experts by keeping market need in view.
