Grand celebrations mark Chaturthi in Bangarpet

 What added uniqueness to the celebrations was the installing of 27 different Ganeshas by Sri Vinayaka Mitra Yuvaka Sangha on its 27 anniversary.

All the 27 Ganeshas were modelled on the historically famous Ganeshas which can be seen at many temples across the State.

Last year the Sangha had installed 26 Ganeshas to match its 26th anniversary and this year correspondingly 27 Ganeshas were installed.

Apart from this cultural programmes had been organised for three days every evening at Vijaya Nagar Hebbagilu were cine actors along with famous singers gave programmes which highlighted Kannada language and culture.

On the evening of August 23 Bandahalli Vijaya Kumar and team sung folk songs.
Twin brothers Ashok and Anand entertained the people through Jugglers programme.
Humour programme by mimicry artiste Rajgopal was also organised.

Apart from this, Ganeshas were installed at all the major roads in the town and the special lighting arrangement attracted hordes of visitors which included people from neighbouring villages and taluks. The town appeared to have been specially decked up for the festival.
