Woman dies after falling from bike

A woman died after falling off the bike on Saturday morning. The deceased is Hemavathi (45), a resident Madikeri.

The incident occurred at 8 am when Hemavathi was riding pillion to attend a funeral, along with her husband Harish on his bike. She slipped off from the bike in front of Junior College near Man’s Compound.

Hemavathi, a resident of the city (living near Forest Officer’s quarters) was severely injured as she slipped off from the bike. Though she was immediately taken to the District hospital but all efforts went futile. The traffic police informed that the mishap happened because a part of Hemavathi’s saree got stuck in the bike wheel throwing her away from the bike.
