The world needs all the three,” said Karimuddin, writer and historian.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Addressing the participants at the national integration camp on the second day here on Tuesday, he said all the theories that planets revolve around the sun or all planets and sun revolve around earth are ok, but we must first understand that the whole world revolves around man. “If human beings are uplifted, all other things follow,” he added.<br /><br />The seven-day camp that began on Monday on a low key — due to three day mourning, following the demise of ex-chief minister S Bangarappa — has been organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), District Industries Centre, youth services and sports department and Kannada and culture department.<br /><br />Stating that religion was indefinite strength, Karimuddin said the urgent need is to change the mindset of the people. “Everybody say their religion is the best and supreme and show disrespect towards the others. This should change. Poet Kuvempu has a solution to this problem in just four words ‘manuja matha, vishwa patha’, meaning the world should embrace the religion of human beings,” he said.<br /><br />Language of heart<br /><br />People from various regions, faiths and backgrounds argue that their languages is the language of god. Some say Sanskrit is ‘devabashe’, for some it is Arabic, for others it is Greek or Latin, and Basavanna went to the extent of claiming the status for Kannada. But the only language god understands is the language of the heart, he said.<br /><br />Karimuddin said praying to god should become secondary. Living god should be primary for all human beings. Existence is god. So whatever exists is god and there is god in everybody. The only problem among human beings is that they fail to understand oneself.<br /><br />“Existence is god and the soul of existence is change — from birth to death — change beautifies everything. That is the plan of god,” he added.<br /><br />India is known for tolerance towards and respect for others. But this character is slowly disappearing. Unity is the soul of all religions, if all people become united, there is no need for religion, he said.<br /><br />“Follow whatever dharma or faith you are born into or you believe in. No faith or religion is inferior. Mandya district NYK coordinator Siddaramappa, Bijapur coordinator D Dayanand and Belgaum coordinator S U Jamadar were present on the occasion.<br /><br />Twenty participants each from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra, 10 each from Bijapur, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts and 20 each from seven taluks of the district are participating in the camp.<br /></p>
