Bedi, Kejriwal target Sonia

Last Updated 28 December 2011, 09:10 IST

After Anna Hazare announced that Congress is his target in the fight for a strong Lokpal, key Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi today fired a salvo at Sonia Gandhi, saying only a change in government will help in getting a strong anti-corruption ombudsman.

"Getting Janlokpal sooner or later will not happen without regime change. Time alone will tell when?" Bedi tweeted. Launching an attack on Gandhi, Kejriwal tweeted, "MPs do not have the freedom to speak or vote against wishes of Party High Command (PHC). Aren't MPs bonded labors of PHC?" Kejriwal tweeted in an apparent reference to the Congress President.

Bedi said, "we have witnessed the autocracy of High Command. Are we seeing MPs representing will of their constituencies who voted them to parliament?" "High Command of the ruling party -- world's largest democracy. Remember when u vote next time on what/who you want?" she said.

Their tweets came soon after Hazare said that he will campaign against Congress, which he alleged cheated them the maximum and that he found no reason to oppose any other party, including BJP. "Isn't India a dictatorship of Party High Command between 2 elections? Isn't Indian democracy by the Party High Command (PHC), of the PHC, for the PHC? Is it by the people, of the people, for the people? Is india really a democracy?" Kejriwal asked.

In another tweet, Kejriwal claimed BSP and SP walked out of Parliament to support Congress yesterday. "Did Govt again misuse CBI to get their support?" he asked. Bedi added, "everytime party in power is in need of votes it closes ranks with Mayawatiji and Mulayamji. Other times they are on their own."
