With New Year falling on a weekend, hotels – both big and small – across the City have made elaborate plans and literally spread out a red carpet for those who wish to party hard.

Metrolife has put together a few events lined up by the hotels on New Year’s eve. The extended deadline till 1 am is an added advantage for most hotels and they are going all out to rake in the maximum moolah.

The Leela Palace is hosting the ‘Red Carpet Affair’ which is a movie-themed party with characters from across the world. The feel of a real studio and a movie theatre will be recreated with people dressed like movie characters like Captain Jack Sparrow, Krishsh, Robot, Raj or Simran.

The buffet spread will be as lavish and elaborate as the grandeur of the palace with over seven different cuisines to choose from. DJ Lloyd will entertain the crowd with some pulsating music and there will be a huge al fresco dance floor at The Library Lounge. The Lalit is presenting the ‘Rhythm Rendezvous 2012– Don’t miss the beat’ which will have international dancers perform alongside DJs Sash, Cathy, Annie and RJ Rakesh. ITC Gardenia plans to ring in the New Year with a bash at Mysore Hall with DJ sisters, ‘Spin Twin’.
