A cartel of robbers has been busted with the arrest of two Bangladeshi men in Shahdara on Friday, police said.

Nusahad, 24, and Aslam, 21, residents of New Seemapuri, were arrested during a special drive to nab burglars in north-east Delhi, said Sanjay Kumar Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (north-east Delhi).

“We got information that members of the Badshah gang would meet near Loni Road Nalla in Shahdara at 5 pm to commit a crime,” he said.

During interrogation, the duo told police that Nusahad was the leader of the gang and that they came from Bangladesh. They also admitted to having robbed a shop at Shahdara in September. They have been active in these areas, police said.

“They had robbed the shopkeeper of Rs 1.25 lakh at gun-point,” Jain said.
Apart from operating in Shahdara, the gang was also involved in several cases of robbery in Seelampur, New Usmanpur, Jyoti Nagar and GT Enclave.

With this arrest, the police claim to have solved 14 cases. Nusahad was also involved in nine cases and was released from Tihar Jail in April this year after spending nine months.
