Two-wheeler maker India Yamaha Motor Pvt Ltd, on Saturday, announced its plans to expand its production capacity to one million units next year.
The company, was, however, silent on the investment outlay for the expansion. Besides, it also plans to invest in product development and network expansion, the statement added.India Yamaha currently has two manufacturing units at Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad in Haryana and produces motorcycles both for domestic and export markets.
Yamaha has reported a 29.1 per cent growth in sales in December 2011. Sales clocked 44,976 units, up from 34,839 units in December 2010.
