Truckers stir enters 5th day

Called by the Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owners Association, the stir has, however, evoked a mixed response, with another faction of lorry owners led by the Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association (FKSLOAA) on Wednesday stating that no strike exists.

G R Shanmugappa, FKSLOAA president said, “There is no strike, but a problem facing sand transporters does exist. Minister for transport, R Ashok will convene a meeting of officials from the Department of Mines and Geology and Transport Department on Saturday. “We will wait for its outcome. If not resolved, we will call for an indefinite stir.”
