6 arrested after encounter with police

Six men wanted by police in connection with various robbery cases, were arrested after a brief encounter with police in the national capital, police said on Sunday.

Vijay Kumar, Sarwan Kumar, Vikrant Kumar, Krishan Lal, Tillu Khan and Azgar Shekh, all residents of Sultanpuri in outer Delhi, were arrested, while they were hatching plans to rob a liquor shop in Sultanpuri last week, Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) B  S Jaiswal said.

“We have also found arms and ammunition from their possession,” said Jaiswal.
They were held following a tip-off that they are going to assemble in a park for hatching robbery at a liquor shop at Raj Park in Sultanpuri. Vijay and Sarwan have directed others members to execute their plan.

“Our team narrowed them in a park and warned to surrender. But Vijay and Sarwan took out pistols, whereas Tullo Khan took out scissor, Krishan and Vikrant took out knives to make their way to flee away but were apprehended by the team members after a brief encounter and scuffling,” said Jaiswal.

Police said that all the gang members were on average were involved in seven to eight robbery and burglary cases in the area.
