‘Raaj’ draws a mixed response

The 'Raaj' team at the press meet. Raaj – The Showman continues to keep its date with trouble.
A bumper opening (in these times) notwithstanding, the film has had to contend with some harsh responses and, is yet to be released abroad!

Director Prem who reeled out details on his film’s good performance sounded angry when he spoke to Kiran Thottambilu, who was supposed to release the film overseas. Prem even threatened to lodge a complaint with the police commissioner, forgetting that there was no agreement between the producers and Kiran.

It was left to Puneeth to salvage the situation. Apologising for hurting anybody, Appu, clarified that Raaj was not a bad film after all.

“Those with an open mind have liked the film while those with expectations have been disappointed with less dance and fight scenes,” said Puneeth whose next film is Prithvi. Cinematographer Krishna described Raaj… as a tonic to the industry.

Satisfied with the response, Krishna gave full credit to Prem for effectively realising his vision on screen.

Director gets a pat

Director Chandru showed Prem Kahani to the producer of the movie and his family and waited for their response, but nobody spoke a word.

Chandru was relieved when he was told by the     producer that he’d made the film just as he’d narrated it.

This came as a big relief for the young director.
“This is a true love story. I found out what happened to the lovers and then wrote     the screenplay,” Chandru asserted.

“Prem Kahani will be a legendary film,” says hero Ajay Rao, looking good with the close-cut crop.

Chandru was proud that Prem Kahani was not done for the television or with any other hidden agenda.

Cameraman Chandrashekhar recollected how difficult it was to shoot in a small house in a slum.

He was impressed with Chandru’s determination and emphasis on natural settings and his eye for details.

The movie will release either in the second or the third week of September.
