The paintings and political diplomacy appear to be finely combining together to “deliver” a friendly  message to parties “trying to tune in to each other”.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has gifted one of her paintings to the Constitution Club of India (CCI), the exclusive club of Indian parliamentarians in the National Capital.

The delivery of the paintings was made by a special emissary of the TMC leader to the BJP Member of Parliament and CCI secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Monday.

“It is an honour for the club to receive a painting by Mamataji. It is a wonderful painting. This is a gift from  Mamataji for her brothers and sisters in Parliament,”  Rudy said.

“We have decided to put it up in the club’s “Starred Lounge”. The Lounge is the best in its genre like the painting and we are grateful to Honourable Chief Minister for having made it possible for the Parliamentarian’s club,” he said. Rudy and another BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain had recently visited Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and met her at the Writer’s Building to condole the death of her mother.
