HC likely to get its first woman CJ


Andhra Pradesh Judge T Meena Kumari is expected to take charge as the Chief Justice of Karnataka after the appointment of Justice P D Dinakaran receives the President’s assent.

Justice Meena Kumari started practicing as an advocate in High Court of Andhra Pradesh in 1976. She was elevated as Additional Judge of High Court in 1998. She later worked in the Madras High Court and became permanent Judge in 1999. She was again transferred to AP High Court and was sworn-in as a Judge in 2001.
