Shaurya Chauhan, whose first film Sadda Adda is ready for release, shot for a bikini calender to promote her film, which is made by Tarun and Rajeev Agarwal under the banner — ‘Rajtaru Studios Limited’.

The cast of film also came for the shoot and apparently, Shaurya Chauhan had two changes. Shaurya, who is also playing the negative role in Krissh 2, said she is very happy to be part of films like Sadda Adda and Krrish 2.

Role up for grabs
Film-maker Priyadarshan is in a dilemma with two A-listers vying to be a part of his new project. Sources claim that Priyadarshan’s next film is about AIDS and will do for HIV what Taare Zameen Par did for dyslexia.

‘Percept Pictures’, the film’s producers, believe that Aamir Khan would be apt for the role after a successful ‘TZP’ and a pan-India success rate at the box office. But director Priyan has already discussed the role with his favourite Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar.

Akshay, in turn, has loved the script and is more eager than ever to be a part of the project. But he won’t work with Percept as he had a fall-out with Percept’s head honcho Shailendra Singh over Nagesh Kukunoor’s Tasveerein.

Meanwhile, Percept is keen on doing the AIDS film with Aamir Khan, who has shown an interest in the film as well.

Akshay, on the other hand, is not only willing to work immediately on the film but also produce it.

A dash of Punjabi
Panna Gill, who was one of the top seven finalists of the second season of ‘Indian Idol’ in 2006, is now all set to come up with his second music album called Heeriye.

Harpreet Singh has composed the music for the album which has seven romantic songs. While Panna’s first music album was titled Panna and consisted of Hindi songs, with music composed by Mani Shankar, Heeriye is in Punjabi.

Though Panna had received around 15 offers to act in TV serials, he has been turning them down politely because he is keen on acting only in films if he gets the right opportunity. But the young singer is quick to confess that his first love is singing and has made him popular all over the world today.

Panna adds that besides anchoring a TV show as a suave host, he would also love to try his hand at playing an out-and-out negative role because he feels that it will give him more scope to prove himself as an actor.

Panna also recently said that Why This Kolaveri Di is a hit because Dhanush’s style of singing matched the mood of the track.

Good friends again!
Actress Deepika Padukone and film-maker Priyadarshan had a noisy fallout five years ago when she opted out of his project ‘Pirates’.

But the two have patched up now and agreed to work together. Priyadarshan was keen to launch Deepika and the film was supposed to feature her with four other newcomers playing a music band.

Instead, Deepika chose to make her debut with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. After that, Priyadarshan stayed away from Deepika until 2008 when Shah Rukh Khan used his clout to persuade Deepika to perform an item song in Priyadarshan’s Billu, which SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment had produced.

The thawing of the ice had begun. Now it’s time for the director and actress to finally work together. “We broke the ice during the song in Billu. Now I have a role just right for her,” said Priyan.

Priyadarshan, who has directed about 83 films in his 30-year career, had no releases in 2011. But he is ready to make up for the lost year with as many as four films this year. Of these, he is highly excited with the ‘family comedy’ (as he says) which he will direct in July for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Limited has him specially kicked.

Not only is he working with Abhishek Bachchan for the first time, he has also roped in Deepika for the female lead opposite the actor. It’s a double delight for Priyadarshan since he has never worked with both the actors before.

“Abhishek and I have been planning projects together for the longest time. We were supposed to do a biopic on Chandrashekhar Azad. But who watches historicals any more? I’ve finally zeroed in on the perfect project for Abhishek. We start shooting in July,” said Priyadarshan.

Back with a bang
Preeti Jhangiani, who turned producer with Sahi Dhande Galat Bande, in which she was seen playing a news reporter, is ready for her full-fledged acting comeback with Yeh Hai Mumbai.

Preeti, 31, who made her Bollywood debut with Mohabbatein, is looking forward to the acting assignment. “Preeti is very excited about this film as it is a heroine-oriented film and she has a very interesting role in it,” said a source close to the actress who is married to Parvin Dabas and took a break after the birth of her son.

Half the schedule of the movie, produced under the banner of SAM productions, is already complete, and the rest is being shot and should be done soon.

Written and directed by Sneh Tull, the film is said to be inspired by a real-life Bollywood character.

Preeti has thus been working extra hard and rehearsing to get into the skin of the character. Other actors in the film include Neeraj Vora, Meghna Patel and Bijendra Kala.
