Fulbright-Nehru scholar at RIE

Rohit Setty a doctoral candidate in the teaching and teacher education program at the University of Michigan has been awarded a USIEF Fulbright-Nehru grant.

Under this grant, Rohit is working with the Regional Institute of Education in Mysore.

At RIE Mysore he will stay for eight months and  will be studying the teacher training practices at this institution, and developing, conducting, implementing, and evaluating his own teacher educator training modules as part of his dissertation research.

As a graduate student, his work focuses on the intersection of educational reforms and the practices of teacher training in international contexts. Having worked with teachers, policy makers, and political scientists in India over the past few years, his current work is an examination of the new national teacher education curriculum framework in India and the implementation and enactment of the bold reforms that it sets out. 
      
Rohit Setty's grandparents Rattehalli Narayanaswamy and late Sundaram are from V V Mohalla and parents Boggarm Setty and Bharathi are in USA.
