Two officers arrested for graft

The Bellary Lokayukta police have trapped two officials, while accepting a bribe amount of s two lakh.

Mohammed Rafiq of Siruguppa taluk in Bellary had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta against Chief Officer of Taluk Municipal Council of Siruguppa Nasir Ali and Bill Collector of Taluk Municipal Council of Siraguppa Srinivas for demanding a bribe amount of Rs two lakh for renewal of licence of his shop in Siruguppa.

Status report submitted
The Lokayukta police on Tuesday submitted a status report in the investigation against Dasarahalli MLA S Muniraju, following a private complaint lodged in the Special Lokayukta Court.

Submitting the report, Lokayukta DySP H S Manjunath sought more time to scrutnise the documents pertaining to the case. The matter has been adjourned to February 14. Muniraju is accused of fabricating documents to usurp land in Kereguddadahalli.

The complainant Puttaswamy, a resident of Kereguddadahalli has alleged that Muniraju fabricated documents to obtain 1 acre 15 guntas of land belonging to Puttaswamy’s mother-in-law Mallamma.
