Gudiya Sambhrama, the Bangalore temple festival, will be held from January 20 to March 11. As many as 250 artistes from all over India will converge in these temples bringing performances of dance, music, theatre, puppetry, harikatha and innovative rangoli. For

On screen

The screening of the film ‘Remembering Vaclav Havel’ will be held at Alliance Française auditorium on January 25, 7 pm. This is being organised in special arrangement with Faculty of Drama, Charles University, Prague. Filmed over 10 years, this understated, witty and considered documentary gives a fascinating insight into Czech politics and the man who helped shape the history of the new republic.

Kannada classes

Kannada Prasaara Parishat is holding spoken Kannada and Kannada script read-write learning classes in separate batches. Film workshop

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is holding a film workshop by German film-maker Harun Far­o­cki. ‘Metaphor Racha’

‘Metaphor Racha’, an exhibition of hand-spun and handwoven saris by Ravikiran and Chandrashekar, will be held on January 20 and 21, 10.30 am to 7 pm, at Vermilion House, 3/12, Cleveland Road Cross, Fraser Town. The range includes coarser to finer khadis and those with various printing and dyeing techniques. Dupattas, stoles and men’s wear will also be on display.
